Thank you, after searching through endless forums and reviews and websites, you’ve finally given a clear answer
A simple 3 digit number was literally all I needed, and no one else (apparently) in the fucking world was capable of that. That makes you something special 🙏

I topped mine out at 98mph/157kph but that's with my 205lb fatass riding on very windy days. I definitely need a windscreen because anything over 60mph/95kph and the wind is fighting me like I insulted it's ancestors

I got my 2018 Rebel 500 up to 112MPH (couldn't do it before the lockdown), and it easily cruises at 70-80 MPH. I'm 220 lbs .

Been looking at getting my first bike and I keep gravitating back to the Rebel 500. Love the styling. Like how it's a neutral riding position. I don't want a crotch rocket or a chopper. I like how the Rebel is light and maneuverable. And now knowing that should I become comfortable enough to take it on the interstate where the speed limits are between 60 and 70 mph (95-112 kph), I could keep up with the flow (without trashing the fuck out of it) rather than be the dork on the proverbial 45 mph (70 kph) scooter holding up traffic.

That’s actually really nice 👍🏻 in my country max speed is 130 km/h more than that license is gone. But it’s nice to see it actually can cruise at 130km/h

For anyone who simply wanted this guy to share the top speed...

From Honda authorized dealer:
Hi Wik,

Thanks for asking about the Honda Rebel 300 & 500 speed capabilites. Both share the same chassis so comfort and handling are the same.

-The 300 has a reported top speed of around 95 MPH. It can handle 70 MPH highway trips well. The Rebel 300 ABS at MSRP goes out the door with all dealer fees, taxes, title and tag for $6, 184.
-The 500 will go close to 115 MPH making 80 and up trips a real possibility. The 500 ABS goes out the door for $7, 880.

There's probably some wiggle room on the prices so give me a call and let's see which bike fits your needs the best. I look forward to hearing from you soon, until then, Cheers!

This reminds me of the good old days, back when I drove a Gremlin to school. I lived my life a quarter mile at a time. And with four maypops, a driver's side door that would fly open if I took the curve too fast; a hood that would more likely than not fly up at speeds over 50mph, it was an exciting time.

It's fine bike., I rode a ninja 250 for the longest time. This bike is great for cities, back roads where you're doing 90-100kph, but it's a little buzzy at 120, the jump to the 1100 is worth it. The 1100 is sitting pretty at 120kph, and it will just get to speed.

Put a windscreen on it (and/or go prone), you might get something out of the 6th gear.

Just what I thought. My top when I tried it was 104/mph and that was with the wind assisting me. You’d probably have to go downhill if you wanted to hit 120/mph or something.

Holy crap I didn't know a rebel could go that fast

Perfectly fine top speed. Engine is geared and tuned to be understressed for longevity. Could go faster in 6th by tucking down and going downhill without a passenger videotaping. Then maybe changing sprockets and drafting behing a car.

i am surprised of how many people dont realize that in most parts of the world going faster than 150 km/h is unthinkable (because of the bad roads) . then you ask why so many accidents occur everyday on breaking news, tv. anyway amazing bike and a very reliable motorcyle.

Thanks for the video!! I wanted to get this bike but i wondering the top speed...seems like 160 for long distance would hurt the engine a lot i guess..

140 kmh is good enough to be a cruiser in the city. I think its perfect for a beginner trying to learn. just enough to go on the highway. Nothing more is really needed tbh.
