So somehow, as Betty meant everything for Simon in his short human life, and Simon meant "an experience" in Betty's infinite life as Golb, it kind of means it also was her everything in a human lifetime, and even more since (as someone else said) the life of a human is like a blink in her lifetime as a deity.
They both meant everything for each other, but they made mistakes and messed it up.
So, indeed; "Who knows what life would have been like" ...if only they had made different, decisions, better ones...

Not gonna lie, I feel this on a personal level. I may not have a partner, but I did had someone who I would consider a close friend. It hurts even more when looking back our previous conversations, I felt like I've taken her for granted. I'm not sure if I've done a good job in supporting her the same way she has supported me.

At least we didn't end off in bad terms though. She's just taking a long break from social media, and I'm happy for her for that, but I'm also sad that we may not be as close as we used to.

I knew that some day, we'd slowly drift away from each other, but I never expected this to hurt this bad.
