As a Greek mythology geek I love this song, especially how he incorporates the Icarus myth into his own poetry. Not to mention the fact that this song is basically an ode to Apollo.

I think hes betraying himself for love, knowing that is is changing him, making him less, but as it is love he is sacrificing himself for it knowing thet it will kill who he this is a good or bad is not the issue only the compulsion...the inability to change course of direction...the hopelessness...the need...

This sounds like it's about cheating(?) But like cheating in the sense that he feels devoted to another( The night) but finds himself attracted, whether physically or emotionally, to a new person( The sunlight) the Icarus analogy would be that he would jeopardize a stable and healthy relationship for, in further inspection, physical attraction. My man said "I'm boutta risk it all" in a romantic Shakespearean poetry
