Just a quick clarification: you absolutely can use normal shampoo for dolls. You can also use conditioner to help detangle and smooth hair. Generally you want to use a pretty cheap conditioner (the ingredients in cheap conditioners may not be best for our hair but they are great for synthetic hair.) I generally go for Suave conditioner and shampoo as I find the scents are nice and work well for doll hair.

The clay used to make the boots was PURE MAGIC! I had no idea something like that existed and can be bought at the craft store. I was amazed

It's actually not originally a Japanese doll. It was originally an American doll sculpted and sold in America but later a Japanese company (Takara) bought the mold and started selling them with their own concepts.

You can use a mix of fabric softner and water to clean/untangle doll hair.

fun fact: Blythe was first manufactured by Kenner in 1972 and the OG dolls can be rare because they didnt sell well
