Call me crazy, but I find working in the "groove" or flow state makes it that much more enjoyable as well as more efficient. My observation here is that working in such a state in western culture seems to be discouraged, yet their employees are falling asleep on the job, and in eastern cultures it is encouraged to work with efficiency as well as showmanship. I see the occasional drywaller or bricklayer who is showing off mad skills who is definitely from a western culture in these vids, but it seems that there is a huge cultural difference in how workmanship is perceived in the world.

I used to work for a printing company in minneapolis, they hire a lot of temp workers to do the repetitive jobs, the company employees would call it mindless work because you zone out so much by doing the same thing in repetition it becomes a memory movement. One of the orders was applying the Velcro dots on the flaps of the tracfone boxes, thousands of them. A room of 20 temps just doing that for couple days for 12 hour shifts. I was a supervisor and had to make sure they were applying the Velcro dots in the exact location where it needed to go, if it was off location then the carton 📦 they were working on had to be redone. It’s true you just zone out till you do so much you close your eyes placing those little dots in your sleep lol it’s memory and a lot of repetition.

Working fast and hard can be satisfying and fun. But the reality is that a lot of the people in this video are putting their lives and health at risk using unsafe equipment and not having proper safety gear meaning one slip could be life changing for them mean they go from low wage to no wage.
