Lidia Thorpe has announced the Black sovereign movement will campaign against the Indigenous Voice to Parliament, with the Independent Senator hoping to have a say in writing the official ‘No’ case pamphlet.

Ms Thorpe said the Voice will have “no power” for Indigenous Australians as the legislation will be controlled by the Parliament.

The exact date of the referendum is expected to be revealed at the Garma festival in August.

The best person to oversee the writing of the NO Vote is Jacinta Price NOT the divisive Lidia Thorpe. Reparations!!!! if that is the case we want every dollar that has ever been spent on the Aboriginal People over the years to be paid back in full.

!!VOTE NO TO APARTHIED!!!
As of 5 May 2019, there have been 460 native title determinations, with a further 223 native title claims still moving through the system. Currently 40% of land in Australia has a recognised native title interest in it and this is expected to rise to 80% by2050. Does having a ''Black State'' involve splitting the country 80:20? If they intend to have a closed border as they do now in many Aboriginal controlled areas it is a bit concerning just which portion of Australia do they intend to claim? Especially when one considers that ∻85% of Aborigines already live in Urban areas and fully 33% of those live in major centres with ready access to all facilities compared to 25% of the general population, (only around 15% of Aborigines live in rural and remote areas). Surely it's not unreasonable to ask which portion of Australia's landmass they intend to partition? !!!VOTE NO TO APARTHIED!!!

You lost me at reparations. Get a job and pay taxes like everyone else

Vote no. It's the first step to reparations FOREVER. Also "positive discrimination" in areas like health as is happening in NZ (no matter how they're now trying to spin it that what they're introducing). Hell the voice is itself "positive discrimination" (what we used to call out and out racial discrimination)

Lidia Thorpe is 50% Scottish. Amazing how she gets on to something for the benefit of herself.

Lydia is right this time, aboriginal people aren't a monolithic group that have a single view. The voice is just a vehicle for bad actors to get into parliament, with special powers.

We don't want LT to tarnish the no case.

Keep that lady away from the NO campaign please. Her agenda is even more divisive than the Voice.

Lidia could best help the NO case by campaigning for the YES case.

If she writes it there should be a language warning for everybody, the hate this individual will spew will make certain historical books look like kids books.

Lidia is not trustworthy and should not be let anywhere near the no advice document - I happy to have people like Jacinta there - genuine people.

Have to admit Lidia always gets attention. Rewards for behaving badly, a great example. Last time Michael Long went on a long walk John Howard said he could have given him a phone call.

"...which affect aboriginal & Torres Strait island people differently". Why should they, would they expect to be treated differently to the remaining 96% of us. That's division right there. I'd have thought that that's unacceptable by ANY reasonable persons measure. NO.
