It's still not as good looking inside or out as the Born, but this face lift looks better in and out than the first gen. A good face lift

I actually don't agree there is any noticeable difference betwen ID3 and ID4 in comfort or noise. I own an ID3 Family and an ID4 Max (but without DCC), on UK motorways at 70 they are similar for both noise and comfort. Both are ok. I think the ID3 is better than most cars its size at high speed. EDIT: our ID3 is on 18" wheels
I do agree about the door handles though! The ID4 ones need quite a firm press to lock, they are a lot less sensitive than the ID3 ones.

ID.7 is probably way better, but I think that you really love ID.3. Guess that a Beetle/Golf is more fun than a Passat, even with electricity.

I presume this car had auto lane change? In the UK I have only had that work on 3 lane highways. From what I remember, Germany, France, Holland etc., mainly have 2 lane highways. Does the lane change work on those?

The ridiculous Expensive Car Supplement on cars over £40k stating next April, will hit sales of this car and all EV cars over 40k which is 70% of current cars. Unless legacy manufacturers take quick notice of this sales of Chinese cars will rocket.

Looked at the ID3 when they first came out, but VW had really cheapened them compared to the earlier Golf mk7 (particularly for nearly £40k) so passed 😂.
A year later, I looked at the Cupra Born and decided, yes, that's OK.
However, after nearly 2 years the software is still 3.1, I have booked it in for its first service, so should get the update to 3.2.1 (which I think is the best it will ever get).
I do admit the updated ID3 is now much better, the car it should have been from the start, although my trust in VW has evaporated 😢.

I don't understand the comparisons constantly to the id7 ? If you were testing a troc you wouldn't compare everything to a touareg ??

Good review but it's too personal. Those who think to buy this wouldn't think about ID.7. The later is a different category.
