It's no secret that many modern orthodox Jews love sports to the point where it's a key part of their lives. We've all seen the celebrated Jewish College Sports teams highlighted across the media. Synagogue's in the US have grown accustomed to having sports teams, while the Chief Rabbi of England said Jews should have prayed for their soccer team to win the world cup. Is This Judaism or Something Else?

It is amazing how many men and women are so into sports. Also take bets on them. I think it is disgusting how much money they make., and people still support them

There’s one ball, only one team can control it at once. HaShem Echad, He is the only one true thing on this world. The only question is, who’s in control!?

I really don't understand this yetzer harah. I became baal teshuva some seven years ago, but I was never into sports, even when my father used to take me to the football games when I was a kid. In my school everybody was crazy about this, but I always found sports quite boring. I understand the yetzer harah for women, money, alcohol and honor, to name a few. But sports? I never understood that. I guess I was born without that desire. I was lucky.

Yes but to be fat is also against the Torah I do not see why at all it is wrong to have a 6 pack. If we are not denying reality men who have been with women before will report all women prefer a muscular bodyman holding all else constant. Just like the Rambam lambasts obese people and the Gemara says for shlomo baiyit for women to remain thin so should men also be presentable for their wife. Why not if you can have a beautiful body do it?
