If using the fabric markers, use painter’s tape to section off the area. Save yourself an accidental marker slip and no sticky mess when you remove the tape.

Here's a tip for folks doing quilt-as-you-go- sash method from the QAYG Facebook group - if your sashes don't match up, add applique patches in shapes mimicking your quilt - like squares, hexies, yo-yos, etc and sew them on the intersections. I call them "emergency" applique, lol!

Good tips, thanks. I really like the iron on fusible tape patch.

I’m sad to see this show go, but wherever you go from here I hope you’ll never stop quilting!

The fusible fix was a great idea! I agree on the marker to fix the “oops” moments! I’ve done that a few times for sure and it works like a Charm!

I would be happy if I just finished a quilt, so I could have those sort of mistakes. Love making those quilt tops though!

Fantastic Video!!! More of these great ideas. If you had an easy way to rip out a horrendous mistake you made in your super dense quilting when leaving it is not an option....that would be awesome. I’m using an Ottlite with a magnifier but the fabric is a linen blend and super dense quilting. Fortunately I realized it before I did more than 5 inches.

Good tips Angela. I have used a similar method with the fusible when I have a hole I have inadvertently made in my quilt. I tuck a piece of fusible into the hole, and then a piece of the same fabric I was using into the hole along with some fray check and iron it down. I then FMQ and make sure I go over that area. Pretty much invisible.

There is a specialty hook made for repairing snags, very similar to the one you used but closes on the end for easier removal. Love the idea of using fusible webbing for repairing an opened seam.

Fantastic tips! I have used a black Sharpie on my quilts numerous times to cover up stitching mistakes. The crochet hook is a new one for me. TFS.
