That 10-point steal by Italy was a feat to watch, especially Bottolo's ace serve that was just 2mm in and Russia's team gathering around the "scene of the crime" as the commentator put it while the point was being challenged. A great show put on by both teams.

Italy is getting better of each match. but Russia 5 sets again? ....almost

Russia always struggles against defensive teams. First the loss against Japan, then the loss against Poland (Zatorski's defense 💪) then the loss against Slovenia, and now 5 sets against Italy. Russia is my favorite team but it looks like they won't make the final four this year, unless they get their act together and miraculously win against Brazil.

I also don't understand the coach. In the second set, Kliuka was struggling in receiving and Volkov was not in his best attacking form, but he subbed in Pankov when Kobzar was doing well?

Russia plays terrible on this VNL. They lost 2 sets against third Itialian team. In second set they lost 8 points in a row, in fourth set they leading 16:11 and then was 21:16 for Italy. Bottolo destroyed them in 2 sets.
