what should I do when the function isnt a fraction? how would i find the limit of square root of x times ln(x)?

A different approach is to recognize this as the definition of a derivative at a point. Then you can deduce that if f(x) = ln(x), then f'(x) = 1/x. So f'(e) = 1/e.
