“No one was injured” but we’re all hurt by shoplifters. They increase the cost to run a business by forcing them to hire security and upgrade their doors/windows, while we have to pay higher prices to keep these businesses operating.

Anyone who believes this is a victimless crime is wildly out of touch with reality. Not to mention the difficulty and increased cost of hiring security now that the demand is so much higher.

We need legislation to protect retail workers and security personnel from these brazen criminals. There should be immunity for anyone defending their property with lethal force. What deterrents do we have left?
