Jordan Peterson's family says he is undergoing an 'emergency' drug detox treatment in Russia, after several failed attempts to overcome his dependence on a potent anti-anxiety medication.

Benzos was the most challenging class of drug I ever stopped using. I experienced a grand mal seizure after 4 days of quitting, was admitted to the hospital for a night and relapsed twice. The muscle twitches, fever, heightened senses, anxiety, panic, insomnia, sweating, paranoia, rapid heartbeat and seizures are just a few of the symptoms. I feel for Peterson and hope he pulls through.

Going cold turkey from these meds is intense, you go days and days with no sleep. The self talk and speeding thoughts, the mental discomfort and raging anxiety gets pretty intense . Especially doing it totally alone. Most people don’t get any help, being left to fend for themselves. He’s already at an advantage, having Family, money and support.
