‘Eco-idiots’: Climate protesters slammed for throwing soup on the Mona Lisa

Climate activists have been criticised for throwing pumpkin soup on Leonardo da Vinci’s artwork.

A group called Riposte Alimentaire (Food Counterattack) claimed responsibility for the stunt.

The masterpiece was not damaged, as it’s held behind protective glass.

People on social media have slammed the two protesters.

“Lets stop calling these people activists. They’re not actively doing anything for a cause”, one user posted on X.

Another wrote, “Climate activists just saved the planet. They threw soup on the Mona Lisa”.

This is not protesting, this is vandalism and they should be jailed as criminals.

The consequences for this need to be so heavy that people don’t think it’s worth it . This should be jail time 6 months minimum and it should be charged for

The fact that there were no museum staff or official personnel immediately arriving at the scene shows that it was organized and expected.
Just try leaning too far over the rope barrier at any national gallery, to get get a closer look, and you'll have some strict-prick on you at once.
