It's true that the death penalty was removed, in Italy, in 1994 but
"On March 4, 1947, at 7:45 in the morning, at the shooting range of Basse di Stura in Turin, Francesco La Barbera, Giovanni Puleo, and Giovanni D’Ignoti were executed by firing squad.
