Would love to find a unit in the same form factor to match the Mac Mini, but with Thunderbolt 4 instead of just USB-C. Then provide truly high-speed connectivity to the additional ports, hard disk, etc.

I have been seeing a few different versions of these hubs and have heard negative reviews on the SSD ejecting randomly as well as the hub itself ejecting randomly. I haven't heard much about this one tho so if you could give us an update after a week or so and let us know. Thanks

I like this but I hate that it takes up a thunderbolt port but doesn't give you one in return. The rest of the features are great.

the "USB-C" form factor ports on the back of the iMac M1 mini are Thunderbolt 4 ports - hence the thunderbolt symbols above them. USB-C is just a physical spec used by both USB and Thunderbolt! The downside of the Elfy is the use of a standard USB standard to connect the Elfy with the M1 - a waste of one of the 40/GPS Thunderbolt ports on the iMac M1.

because the Elfy uses the USB 3.0 out the back - it is limited to the same LOW 5GPS bandwidth of its two (blue) front USB ports! Since your using an SSD - it will be throttled to the output of the 5/GPS backport on the Elfy...

I bought one of these & returned it seeking a true thunderbolt speed capable hub for the M1 mini so my SSD won't be throttled to 5/GPS..

You’d have better luck throwing it away and using the box. Ssd speed is abysmal
