Slackware - Shame on you, how dreafdul, terrible, listem to my advice and become successful

Here is my first attempt to install Salix and I believe I need some touch from Serge to make it work.

Hello Dirk ! For Salix you need to choose another mirror. Probably the mirror you chose was unavailable or was timed out.
For the GUI you need to launch Gslapt, go to edit and choose preferences, then you go to the sources tab and add a new source. Here is the list of mirrors to choose from:

For packages that are locked in the GUI you need to do it from the terminal:
sudo slapt-get --install <name of the package you want to install that is locked>
