Modern Hollywood also doesn’t like to have Good VS. Evil anymore, having too many sympathetic villains! Now not every pure evil villains are good either, and there are lots of great villains with sympathetic and understandable motives, but there’s been too much of an overdose of those types, as well as making even those too sympathetic to the point where they aren’t intimidating. Modern Hollywood filmmakers don’t know how to have a striking balance nor the good writing for fiction villains.

Let's examine the 84% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes for The Marvels: I think it was Jeremy over at The Quartering who took a random sample of 100 5-star reviews and found that 92% of them were from new accounts where only one movie was rated -- THE MARVELS. Hmm...

Disney forgiving Pascal for his petulance on set with the Mandalorian really hints to me 1) Pascal is a true believer of the woke and 2) Disney is rewarding his wokeness with the opportunity to emasculate another traditionally strong male character. Just went to a cinematography college and saw the short films one of my friends starred in, and have to say how simple they were, and yet they were beautiful, heartwarming, scary and hilariously better than anything modern movies have given.
I still have hope for the future after seeing it. We just need to support the little guys of the film industry.
