The Assault is the perfect chance for both Gladiators and Contenders to demonstrate their aiming skills!

Assault: The contender must attempt to hit a target while a Gladiator shoots at them using a tennis ball cannon.

ABOUT AMERICAN GLADIATORS:
Welcome to the official channel of American Gladiators, home of patriotic spandex and giant cotton swabs.

Beginning in 1989 for 8 seasons, this competition swept America. Two men and two women compete against each other and a roster of "American Gladiators". Events included, The Assault, Joust, The Wall, Breakthrough and Conquer, Hang Tough, Powerball, and many others, all culminating in the final event, "The Eliminator", a difficult obstacle course race. Every season there is a tournament to determine its "Grand Champion". For two seasons, there was an "International" competition taped in England where the champions from 4-6 countries competed similarly.

This was always my favorite game. My brothers and I would make our own Assault course with stuffed animals as kids. Haha. I wish i could go back to those days.

Me and my friends would daydream of getting a chance to run the gauntlet in a game of assault. This was the reason I watch American Gladiator

I would make my own assault course in my basement with a different nerf gun at each station, then have socks as grenades. LOL Those were the days.

Good old memories. It ran at around 2pm every weekday in German television. I got home, made my lunch my mother prepared the day before and watched American Gladiator

My older brother and I loved watching this show together everyday! The Summer Times were the best for us. This was definitely one of my favorite games to watch along with a few others!

I've had a look at a few episodes of the UK version, and though this event is mostly the same, there are a few minor differences. For instance, across the pond, each station "explodes" every 10 seconds, so the contenders have to rush as fast as they can to fire that weapon. They had two seasons of International Gladiators taped in England, both of which had Mike Adamle as a co-host, so I believe they used their format for the competition in both cases.

Glad they change the rules in Season 3, where you earn a point for firing each weapon, as oppose to not earning any points for any weapons fired in Seasons 1-2. Also, hitting the targets should be enough to just earn the full ten points, as oppose to just getting 7 points.
