While the Stahl House, designed by Pierre Koenig, is best known for its breathtaking views of the Hollywood Hills, the children of the original homeowners are dedicated to sharing the rich history of their family’s journey. From Buck Stahl’s two-year effort to personally lay the concrete bricks around the home, to the pivotal loan from a Black-owned bank that helped make their dream house a reality, these stories live on through the next generation. Today, this iconic Case Study House is carefully preserved to honor its remarkable origins and legacy.

This small clip made me cry. Me and my husband are in our early 30s and have built a modern ranch style home that I designed on a small budget (for nowadays) for our family of 4. It has amazing views on 7 acres of land here in Texas. We hope to one day build something similar to stahl house but we know it will take years of research and planning ❤ I love finding any information I can on modern architecture. It literally makes my heart ache.

I just visited the Stahl House. Thank you, CA, for preserving homes like this one. In NJ, they are tearing them down.

Thanks to the family for maintaining this iconic home. I've never seen it in person, but I always delight at the photos or videos of it. Just saw a small bit of it in one of the Columbo episodes.... :)

This Case Study House #22 will never go out of style. Buck and Carlotta worked thier butts off to build this place. Buck created a model of this site, and Koenig used that as the base of the design and provided the calculations to support the building. Masterpiece of Buck and Carlotta Stahl.

Had a lovely visit to the house a few years back, Everyone was absolutely delightful. Side-note: anyone reflexively say "NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE" to themselves whilst watching? :)

This is beautiful. From the structure, the couples who built it, the preservation of this masterpiece, the bank, this beautiful lady who thought to mention the bank part. That was inspiring. Brilliant

Such an iconic house with a very human story to tell.

We brought the kids to visit the home years ago. Even as youngsters, they really connected with the house and stories of the Stahl family. It remains a special memory for our family to this day.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this beautiful house. And how cute is their mom Carlotta in her pedal pushers? This house is a gift, like Fallingwater. 💖💖

It's featured in Scott Weiland's (from Stone Temple Pilots) "Missing Cleveland" video. Great house. Great song. 🙂
