But he had so much amazing game and you knew he brought out the best in his rivals and was part of so many legendary matches. The on court antics were one thing but as a human being he has a depth and honesty that you cannot deny and a wonderful ability to communicate. I still remember being 13 years at the US Open and seeing Mac walk through the grounds after he practiced. I told my dad I’m going to ask his for autograph. He said, I wouldn’t if I were you. I asked him why and he didn’t give me a reason. I asked Mac for an autograph and he said, “Kid, fuck off!” I never doubted my father again
