Before Christ - Nama Dama

Показать описание
After a year of creative seclusion in a remote Cypriot mountain village, multidisciplinary artist Nama Dama emerges with Pagan Soul - a spellbinding nine-track album that weaves together the real and imagined cultures of her childhood. Born from her multicultural roots, this album defies boundaries, reflecting the fluidity and richness of her musical identity.
Pagan Soul is a vibrant tapestry of sound, drawing from Russian and Ukrainian folk melodies, Greek and Cypriot laments, and otherworldly pagan hymns. With soulful pop vocals layered over lush electronic textures, the album becomes a universal anthem for unity and cultural harmony. It’s a powerful reminder that, despite our differences, we are all part of one shared human story.
Nama Dama’s lyrical prowess shines as she sings in Greek, English, Ukrainian, the Cypriot dialect, and even a language of her own creation. Recorded in just one week at Athens’ Lotus Studio in February 2024, Pagan Soul was brought to life by producer and sound engineer Vasilis Dokakis, with co-production by Lefteris Moumtzis and Nama Dama herself.
A true one-woman force, Nama Dama is redefining live performance. Her shows are not just concerts - they’re immersive, ritualistic experiences that blend the haunting beauty of electronic folk with the infectious energy of pop. Using live looping, keyboards, percussion, vocals, and a recorder, she crafts a sonic tapestry that feels both ancient and cutting-edge.
Step into Nama Dama’s world, where past meets future, tradition dances with innovation, and music becomes a bridge between souls. Pagan Soul isn’t just an album - it’s an invitation to explore a universe where borders dissolve and connections thrive.
