Never lift up your patient like that. You transfer him over. but without lifting him up. Your back will be done in a year if you do that to every patient 8hrs a day.

Why do you risk yourself lifting a heavy patient when you can do it with a STANDING AID machine. You can secure him with the sling attached to the standing aid machine and with a press of the button, you can just lift him up without hurting your back.

You don't transfer like this unless you want your back fucked up 😂

Not advisable especially if the patient/residents is way too heavy or dead weight. It will get you in the future back pain. Thats is why ww have a lift machines like sara steady, hoist lift etc.

One has to be strong enough to do that . Also there will be great stress on the back of the person doing the lift. THANK YOU.

Should have been transferred closer to his pillow, not at the end of bed.

I'm petite, and I had a patient who is way taller than me and his huge😂. The way I lift is by using pivot and momentum. It'll save my back😂

That’s a 2 person pivot transfer everything is wrong here

She literally carried him without help from the patient. If good muscles of patients can still help, make use of good arms and legs. The way caregiver lifted him will cause back pain over time.

I take care of elderly most of them can't bend their knees. You literally pick them up.
But we don't use belts...we just hug them very tightly chest to chest. And the arms are held together behind the shoulder blades.
No restraint on the back. Just the legs and shoulders.

I don't know if this is better than the belt trick. But I don't see many videos of transferring people the way we do it.
