Every year, for weeks before Valentine’s Day, convenience store shelves are full of chocolates in big, red, heart-shaped boxes. These make nice gifts for that special someone, but they’re a little too lovey-dovey for all the other someone-s in your life.

Your kids, your coworkers, your wonderful neighbor who’s helped you shovel your snow all winter. These people are special, too – and they deserve a little sweetness.

Here’s a chocolate treat that’s great for sharing with all your favorite people: my Valentine’s Day Chocolate Bark. It’s got a layer of chocolate (your favorite brands will do just fine) on the bottom, topped with a layer of dried fruit (kiwi, orange and strawberry are recommended in this recipe) and dolled up with sprinkles, edible flowers and roasted nuts.

You can take a batch of this to the office to pass around, or send your kids to school with some to share with friends. Or you can break up the big batch into smaller portions and give them as gifts to show some love on Valentine’s Day. Or you can just simply send them to your significant other!
