We all know that 50 years ago, Teekay was founded by Torben Karlshoej, whose initials give us our name. Under Torben’s vision, Teekay grew from a tanker operator to an operational leader and successful vessel owner in the conventional shipping market.
Inspired by Torben's generosity, the Kattegat Trust founded the TK Foundation with the mission to fulfil Torben’s legacy. They do this by enabling disadvantaged youths to succeed and by promoting maritime education and safety.
Marking Teekay's 50th year, we are re-exploring the vision, mission and success of the TK Foundation by gathering interviews from Susan Karlshoej, Yumi Karlshoej, and our leaders here in Teekay.
May the future continue to be bright for our promising youths.
