This is just a joke. Please don't take this seriously.
I use these terms... but I'm sure it's only me.... because I'm weird.

My scribbles: those tornadoes you draw when you're bored
My doodles: small drawings on the side of the sketchbook
My sketches: his scribbles

People’s definitions of sketches and doodles vary a lot. I would say that a sketch for me is in pencil and usually before I ink a piece. A doodle takes me less than five minutes

You and I have VERY different definitions of each of these lol

For more beginner artists like myself:
Scribble: less than 1 minute
Doodle: a couple minutes
Sketch: 30 mins to 2 hours
Painting: a couple hours/an afternoon (or more)

Random artist: "Do a full-on painting masterpiece."
The same artist: *Here's my doodle really quick.*

For me a doodle is something you do in school or when you have art block, a sketch is a pretty quick drawing you do on loose paper or in a sketch book, a drawing is where you like it and colour it, and a painting is where you have several emotional break downs

My definition as someone who dabbles but doesn’t actually do art:
Scribble: a fifteen second scribble, normally testing out a specific part of anatomy or something smaller
Doodle: maybe a full drawing of something, like four or five scribbles put together
Sketch: still quite messy lines, but it’s a full drawing that will be the base for more design or a painting later
And then a painting is pretty much his definition

For me its about intention. A scribble is something I do without any thoughts or plans behind it and it stays that way, a doodle is when I have a basic idea of what I’m doing but no real plan, a sketch is when I have a plan but its not fully filled in, just rudimentary shading, and a full painting is when I have a full plan of what I’m doing and finish it with all details.
