An arrest warrant has been issued by the International criminal court (ICC) for Russian president Vladimir Putin, as well as Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, Russia's presidential commissioner for children's rights.

The ICC has stated that it has sufficient evidence to suggest that Putin is criminally liable for the 'war crime of illegal deportation of population (children)' and 'unlawful transfer of population (children)' from Ukraine's occupied regions to Russia. The ICC has also found evidence to suggest that Lvova-Belova bears individual responsibility for the same crimes.

Did the International criminal Court take this step in the case of George W. Bush?

If you don’t do this for Bush/Blair then this has no validity whatsoever.

Knock knock!
Putin: who's there?
ICC: ICC Police.
Putin: You're under arrest.

This would be laughable if it wasn't such a serious matter.

The United States initially became a member of ICC in 2000 but later withdrew its signature in 2002, citing concerns about the potential for politically motivated prosecutions of American citizens. In 2002, the U.S. Congress passed the American Service-Members' Protection Act, which authorizes the use of military force to free any U.S. personnel who are detained by the ICC. Since then, the U.S. government has taken steps to distance itself from the ICC. For example, in 2018, the Trump administration announced that it would impose visa restrictions on ICC officials investigating alleged war crimes committed by U.S. forces in Afghanistan. The Biden administration has revoked these sanctions, but the U.S. has not rejoined the Rome Statute. The U.S. position on the ICC has been criticized by some countries and human rights organizations, who argue that the ICC is a critical institution for holding individuals accountable for the most serious crimes under international law. However, the U.S. government has maintained that it is committed to promoting accountability for these crimes through other means, such as domestic prosecutions and cooperation with international tribunals on a case-by-case basis.

ICC should be renamed Western Hypocrisy Court as it is fully presided by Western appointed judges.

Unless they are going to hold all leaders of nations to the same legal standard, all this does is cheapen the international criminal court.
