This helped me a lot. I have been needing this function for ages. Thanks a lot.

The Shift+Z tip still works in Jan 2019. Thanks!

For those who don't want to watch the whole video... just highlight the file(s) and press Shift + Z to link it add it to another folder.

Note that Shift-Z does not work in Team Drive and I can't see an equivalent feature to 'Add' to other folders in Team Drive

Whilst this is useful, it is not what I believe most people would want to do. This function copies the same file to multiple folders so, when one of those copies is edited, they are all edited. Basically, it is still just one file. Is there a quick way to make actual individual copies of a file to other folders?

Here's something I haven't been able to figure out. If I want to remove the document from one folder but keep it in another, how do I do that? When I tried removing it from one folder it trashed it entirely.

so I want to add a single file to multiple student folders in such a way that the students can individually edit their version without changing or editing the original file...
