This is without question one of the craziest assists in the history of the NBA.

If you’re wondering why Kobe did this, watch the clip watching only Kendrick Perkins (wearing number 5 for OKC in the black uniforms).

Perkins was dropping to cut off the pass to Jordan Hill, so rather than risk a pass directly to Hill, Kobe banked the pass off the backside of Serge Ibaka.

That caused Perkins to turn and guard someone else, assuming the ball wasn’t going to Hill — but it went to Hill anyway for the easy, uncontested dunk.

In the replay, at the very end of the clip, you can see Perkins smiling at what Kobe just did.

Obviously Kobe isn't known as a passer, but back in the day the few he had were incredibly creative.

I somehow think the PG spot will help prolong Kobe's career. He can very easily be a 20/10 player that way, proved it earlier in the year.

wow I've actually never seen that before

Looks like he was aiming for Pau, as you can see their eyes meet, Pau put his hands up. Ibaka got in the way, but Hill reacts quickly, and maybe even a lucky bounce.

Quite Interesting that most of his highlights "now" are mostly Assists ....

He was going out of bounds and he wanted it to go off Ibaka more than likely
