I married my highschool sweetheart in 76 we were. Married our whole senior year then I served 6years in the Marines and a couple years after I was honorable discharged she was killed in a car accident.
I've been alone and love ever since. Two loosely marriages after all went south now I've been single for 25 years and not even dating anyone
I'll be 65 in a couple months she's been gone over 30years and I still miss her everyday
RIP Karen Sue McCarty

My parents were married 61 yrs, my mom died 2 months ago...my dad is completely crushed, heartbroken, alone and hurting. I'm worried the stress is too much for him at 83yrs old. They met each other in the 6th grade, when they were 11yrs old. They were inseparable.

It is so amazing to see how many people have commented on here about how in love they are with their spouse.❤It is good to see the positivity and deep love still exists in a world such as this!

I asked an old couple who were married 64 years and both had happy wrinkled what their secret was. She said “easy. You have your thing, he has his thing, and you have your together thing.” I liked that and my husband and I practice it. We have a very happy marriage. He gets to be him. I get to be me. And we get to be us.

My wife is my joy, she’s my backbone, she’s my hero veteran from the navy, she’s a awesome grandmother, mother, friend, lover, she puts up with my deafness and has tremendous patience for my handicap, she has a autistic son she made sure he went thru school and graduated this year. When I’m with her everyday and every night I’m so thankful and happy I have her in my life. I THANK GOD EVERY TIME FOR HER.

I love her so dearly.

I asked my daddy once and I’ll never forget. I said dad when do men mature? I was about 16 and I wanted to have a boyfriend and he said I think I was about 45 when I started to mature and I’m never gonna be there all the way. He was the best man on the planet. I might be a little biased, but truly, I have nothing bad to say about him, and he was absolutely right. I remember at the time I was scared to death by his answer. I was like really?! I can’t have a boyfriend until I’m 45!! ha ha, but honestly because of this I waited and I dated ..and then I finally married my high school sweetheart. Only after waiting on purpose for some of that maturity to happen, thank God for good dads and good advice! Been together 20 years. Married 10.

I’ve been married for 28 years.
We live in an imperfect world, and thus, we can never expect to have a perfect marriage.
To me, a good marriage is being unselfish and helping each thru sickness, and thru difficult times. It’s easy during good times, but being there for each other during very difficult times is a true test of love.

I had 48 mostly wonderful years with my husband. A few days before he died he said to me " If I had it to do all over again, I would still choose you". I miss him every day in every way, even his warts.

I did want to be a wife. He lied about wanting to be a husband and had a secret life. Definitely better off without a person like that. Marriage is no place for deceit.

If you want a person you can trust, you have to be a person who can be trusted.

I’ve been with my wife going on 15 years. I still look at her the way I did when I first fell in love with her. That was mere days after I met her. I choose not to remember life before her, because life with her makes me feel like the luckiest man alive.

That's good.. understand what he's saying. When two people get married and each of them want to stay individuals and not become one with their partner.. it will never work.

I’ve only been married for 14 years so I probably don’t have much right to say anything, but I couldn’t imagine my life without my wife. I do love everything about her from the inside out because that is what made me fall in love with her as friend, as a girlfriend, a fiancé, my wife and mother of our daughter. She’s made me the best version of myself that I could’ve ever hoped to be. And I thank God every day that he deemed me worthy of such a priceless treasure. I honestly hope that when she passes away I immediately follow because I know could never continue my life without her.

I wanted to be a wife.
But he didn't want to live together after marrying me... he wanted my money, my love, my service, my body, my time, my attention, my everything, EXCEPT my autonomy or individuality.
He wanted to use me and swallow me up for his own purposes.

I am better off without him.
