For most people who point and shoot 200mp definitely doesn't matter. People can get perfectly good photos with what is available now. However, those of us who use Photoshop and want better quality raw images, the more megapixels the better. Many photographers are turning to using phones in certain situations so they will like 200mp. Excellent discussion!👏

Excellent video. I think 200mp will be a very good idea. Ok, many people don't need it, but many professional photographers are turning to mobile phones for convenience sake. As an avid photographer myself, it can be difficult hauling around a big camera and a bunch of lenses particularly in situations such as mountain climbing, my main leisure activity. It's not easy in physically demanding areas to carry cameras. I, of course use Photoshop to process my raw images and you need a lot of pixels to make bigger sized images for exhibitions. So, for me, I want it!

I like the idea of binnig modes on sensors, is there any disadvantages of using such modes ???

High MP count is useless. They should actually use a big sensor with LESS pixels, so that the actual physical pixels are bigger. I really don't understand this MP race, because it just makes images and specially videos look worse. It's also important to remember that we get the best quality by using pixel binning, having an effectively lower MP count at the end. If we got these big sensors with native lower MP count we would get much better results.

So smart smartphones are still a jack of all trades?

Software is limited whereas MPs are like horsepower for smartphones. For the average consumer NOOO WAY should 200MPs ever be in a flagship smartphone. It's easier to dial down power than it is to digitize it up IMO. Even the pixel 6 had to add sensor size to compete with Apple and Samsung for RAW image processing, but who's going to buy one? The best but overpriced is the maker of sensors I like is Sony. They've seem to discover that happy medium that produces the video and stills that are a creator's dream. Kinda like Apple relying on Samsung to compete with their displays, each phone makers rely on Sony ISOCELL to wear the 👑.

Megapixels mean nothing if the software is shit.
