Just remember the liberal finance minister knows absolutely nothing about banking, absolutely nothing.

Last 2 weeks in my community, many For Sale signs have suddenly popped up all throughout my town and in the country. Usually this time of the year, the market gets quiet and there are very few houses available for sale or rent. Asking prices still high.

They over extend themselves then whine and complain that they don't make enough money so they ask for a raise then the boss gives them a raise then jacks the price of goods and services to his customers then the customers whine and complain...On and on it goes. It's time people LIVE WITHIN THEIR MEANS!

A couple friends bought their first home peak covid. I told them they should wait as the market was sure to shrink if not collapse, at least one of them has admitted they should have waited.

Our economy is falling apart because people put the majority of their money into investing in housing instead of investing in businesses, of course this was going to lead to long term economic stagnation, no way around it and completely obvious to anyone capable of long term thinking

Luke, I totally agree with your analysis. The consumer debt is at outrageous levels. Most consumers live paycheck to paycheck. Rates have gone up. I expect B of C to lower rates to get xmas bonuses but the damage is done. The economic day of reckoning is upon us. Look for higher taxes, higher unemployment and a huge hammer to the economy. What puzzles me is why isn't the gov't planning an election today before the economy hits the proverbial fan rather than hold an election during a collapse. What do they know that we don't.

Not worth starting a business in Canada... except maybe as a farmland broker. Fuck this country

In 2027 you’ll hear your family members and colleagues say “it was obvious the market was going to crash”

We just sold our house in Alberta, after a year, and made a profit, so I'm paying off a line of credit with that profit. We bought another house for less so it'll go into some investments of gold and silver. The rest will be available for any trips we take through Alberta. Our pension will cover any costs now. It's all in how you plan.

Most listings are empty homes in my town. Still over priced.

Most people like to have steak to eat, but in reality can only afford macaroni & cheese.
I buy only what I can afford & need .
Most people purchase things they really can't afford & it's all wants .
I haven't taken a vacation in 30 years, drive a 17 year old vehicle that gets me from point A to B .
What ever I own is fully paid for with no leans or payments owning .
I'm cheap in every way, always looking for super deals & always try to not purchase items in retail price if I can help it .
Buying things on credit cards with real money you don't have will get you in trouble.
Financial stress is a killer if your a debt slave .

Born and raised in Kitchener, made the decision to move to Alberta 3 years ago to try to survive. No one could have convinced me growing up that Kitchener would ever become a destination for people from Toronto and pricing me out. I would never move back though even if prices went down.

How do regular people get access to the power of sale listings? How does the bank sell them?

Although it's not the most important thing, people in Ottawa/the Government pronounce OFSI as "off-see."

Great content as usual; I'm not trying to be a Karen, haha.

can you do the same report on the Lower Mainland and show us the situation there.
Even with lower interest rates its too late to save many of these home owners they are just gone to deep in debt
