What is Coast FIRE? (Financial Independence Retire Early)

Coast FIRE is simply when you invest enough in your retirement accounts up front, it grows without any additional contributions to support your retirement at a specified age.

You can "coast" to retirement without adding more money to your retirement accounts ever again. (Assuming all variables are accurate)

There are some caveats, however, which we will discuss in the video.

This is a great no bullshit finance channel. The way I figured it was the amount needed for a 3% bond to pay out $80k annually. Which is about $3 million cash. It's crazy the amount needed to save, vs what people are making, and the probability of serious and costly crisis over that time frame. Without a lot of luck and planning many people are going to work until they drop. Hopefully this channel helps people in the planning department.

I agree everyone should try to be generous and avoid being a cheap miser but I also think it's beneficial to develop your poor person skills and live like a poor person at least a few days per month. That way you become a bit less dependent on money and better prepared mentally against financial shocks. Sort of similar to how martial artists pretend to fight each-other so they are better prepared if they ever get into a real fight.
