I admire the fact that HDCP is optional in this XMB. Wish it was on current retail systems. i am sure that the PS5 has it as an option and is required for Blu Ray Playback

Wow, I love this black wave theme. Wish it was posible to use on the newer CFW. Did retail PS3 came with this version? I have this weird retail Japanese PS3 CECHA00 model which shows that the minimum downgradable version is FW 1.00 but havent dare to test this and downgrade it in fear of a brick lol.

Is it true on the old firmware you couldn’t access the XMB while playing a game? I didn’t get a 3 until the Slim came out

Hi everyone

I have an original 20GB CECHB12 PS3 that I would like to revert back to original firmware for collecting and displaying. I want to get the console as close to original as possible.

Am I right in thinking to downgrade to 3.55 with Rogero downgrader and then installing earlier firmware through safe mode?

Interesting that you have the option to turn off HDCP. It's impossible to do this even with CFW because of how the PS3 is built. Though I guess there had to be a PS3 model with the option for developers and game journalists, right?

My ps3 says that this firmware is the Minimum i can downgrade. What can i do if i downgrade to 1.00?

If this is OFW, then why is there install package files? Were you originally able to just install any pkgs?
