He completely ignores the fact that he added weight at the bottom of the one domino. He does say it weighs more but not the obvious metal looking band around the bottom of it.

curious. I know a little about physics, so hear me out:
The domino on the right tapers towards the top so is heavy at the bottom and light at the top
The domino on the left that falls over has not only more mass but is also specifically tapered on BOTH ends, meaning it has a point of which the whole thing pivots around as the side hits the ground.
Therefore, when the one on the left falls over, the bulge hits the ground and it continues "falling" but now the base is moving up as the centre of mass goes down, which flicks the lighter one in the opposite direction - up.
