A waterfall or Cascade grain matching pattern is at the end grain. A miter along the grain matching pattern is a wrap

For the people saying “yeah just go buy a track saw” you can buy a clamp on fence for like $30 to use with a normal circular saw, I can cut perfectly straight with one and you can double them up to sandwich your saw in between if you want, just a tip for anyone who wants to try it cheaper!

i dont own a track saw, but the table saw with power feeder does great job for me

Is glue alone enough for that type of joint?

I'm a master cabinetmaker. I do this all the time. Frog tape is good quality tape and I use it for the same reason.

Him: Are you worried it’s hard to do? It’s not.

Me: phew I needed that

What product did you use to fill in any gaps

I like to use the shaper at work for doing this sort of stuff.

If you can use a Makita track saw, there is a latch to prevent the saw from tipping off the track. Festool is good too but lacks the latch.

I would only recommend packing tape it will hold a lot better and tighter. I use it for a solid looking mantle or posts.

Use a mitre clamp at each end to maintain the 90 degrees.

What are you using to keep the track saw and wood from moving (the black plastic jig in the video?) or does it not need any clamp?

Those clamps do not give enough compression.

Doesn't the 45deg ruin the splinter guard on your track? Because now it cannot act as a zero clearance

Or use a lock mitre on both pieces and get the joint tight and true
