Sounds like Charles Bronson gave a lot of emotional support to fellow veterans in Hollywood...

Charles Bronson was also in an episode. All three were WWII veterans. They shared a unique bond.

I am truly humbled by the HEROS who were Hollywood stars and took so little credit for their roles in that war.

These men never talked about the hell they lived through, except to another veteran and occasionally to some civilian that earned heir trust ……. Rest well heroes !

Brand showed up with so much soul in every performance.

He was also an avid reader. He was known to have the largest private book collection in Hollywood...up to 30, 000 books before a fire wiped him out. He added 5, 000 more later...read them all...not for show. Quite a guy.

How appropriate that he (Neville Brand) was speaking with Charles Bronson, another WWII vet. I’m certain they shared some stories of their time in the service. R.I.P., and thank you for our service: Neville Brand, Charles Bronson, and Rod Serling.

In a 1966 interview Brand explained the Silver Star, stating that withering fire from German machine guns in a hunting lodge kept him and his unit pinned down. "I must have flipped my lid, " he said. "I decided to go into that lodge." That's about as real as it gets.

Serling was also a combat veteran who received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Bronson (Buchininsky) was also a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient.

It's strong stories of character and pain that make me despise the current trend of knocking men as big babies and underdeveloped children. These men absorbed and lived with more emotional and physical pain than anyone can imagine and God bless them.

Awesome. Rod himself was a paratrooper. His war experience informed a lot of his wonderful writing.
