I don't see the craze around 5th gen fighters. It makes sense for the US since they have to be at war at all times. But for a country like us, acquiring and maintaining 5th gen fighters is a very costly. We should just stick to 4.5 gen fighters and fast track the Tejas jets.

People don't realize that Russia is no longer the super power it used to be. The fact is India of today is technically more advanced in many defence and other areas than Russia of today. So it's easy to believe for these people that Su75 is a great option for us. Me personally think that Su75 is already a dying idea with no takers or sponsors

Sir..."Tejas Mk2, AMCA & TEDBF ke model bana bana ke iss techmology me maharath hasil kar li hai"....this last sentence hit really hard & it really hit the core...underlines the total lack of planning, lethargy & snail pace, the never ending sad story of defence project management in India....i really hope we will see actual prototypes soon

PS - we need to fast track Kaveri, both 90kn & 120kn, & must explore use of AL-31/41 or Iz-30s in TEDBF/AMCA/ORCA

We must start to invest significantly in developing a jet engine, till it's done; we must find the possibility of acquiring adequate numbers of Rafales for Indian Airforce and Marine version for INS Vikrant. Defence Ministry must seriously review the issue of depleting Squadron strength. Thank you Subodh for keeping the community well informed regarding this critical matter. Speaking about our defense initiatives, its pretty much evident that our government machinery right from civil to military babus are chilling in their AC cabins and conference rooms. The only ones sweating are the strategists and men on the ground because they have a pretty clear idea how bad is it getting. Modi ho ya Rahul, pisega toh wo infantry soldier ya wo airman jisko consequences jhelne padte hain should the worst happen. Sad state of affairs really!
