Our intent here was to show that it can be improved. All animations are driven by physical forces and always interact seamlessly with the environment, including the running. The legs also predictively adapt to the ground. This isn't just keyframe animation, getting things to look right can be tricky.

As for WASD being realtive to the character, how would you lunge at someone at an angle from you? It may seem confusing at first but you quickly get completely used to it and it works very well. The movement being relative to you and your opponent just makes immediate sense.

Nice to see more improvements and polish to the animation system. The running does look more natural now. Keep up the great work! :D

The procedural running animation looks amazing, although I'd say it could benefit from a bit more of the bouncy vertical motion for the center of gravity. Or as it has been said before, pelvis doesn't move at all.

All of a sudden the little warrior runs into my town on Banished.
A town that already has high mortality problems discovers that things can, in fact, get worse.

The combat system seems to have evolved in a fun way. Almost reminds me of Mount and Blade with the way one can choose attacks. I wonder if the constant falling out of balance would be somewhat remedied by adopting a wider stance while attacking.

It still gives the impression of the character being somehow weightless. Her body doesn't seem to move up and down with the steps, unlike the bouncing motion you'd expect to see when someone is running.

But, guys, never mind, these are things you have a lot of time to tweak and tune. I love everything else you have shown, and obviously the whole concept you're following for this game. Can't wait to play it!

I'm following this project since the very early Kickstarter days, good to see that money went to a good place - just when I thought that the project is dead, you've shown us it's not even remotely stubborn! Keep up the good work guys, I'd like to try a demo as soon as possible.

Replying so quick to feedback shows that you guys deserved to hit your goal, doing exactly what more game companies should do! I'm so excited for this, reminds me of a way more complex Jedi Knight Jedi Academy combat system!

Love it! Great work guys! Subtle changes on the running improved it by ALOT! As it was said in the video, there is more work that can be done for it but for now its tolerable. Controls seem very intuitive. I would like to see more of these smaller sized videos if it doesnt take up too much time from developing. Keep it up guys!

Looks great, so glad I backed this game! Since you're into fixing the running animation, let me add my 2 cents. Currently the character is running as if she's suspended by wires, just doing the motions but not actually connecting with the ground. This is noticeable as the hips and the head maintains constant elevation throughout the run cycle. It also makes the footstep sound effect feel a bit unsynchronized. Other than that, everything looks great so far! Keep up the good work!

Wow, so fluid  and lifelike animations now. You did a great job ! She could have her pelvis moving a bit more and her arms having a wider movement but nothing chocking, really . Keep up the good work guys !

I can totally look past the running animation. It didn't even bother me in the previous video. I'm still as excited as I ever was for this game. The video had me giddy as heff.

Love it! Over 220 hours playing with Exanima! The controls are so great, different, even difficult at first, but then when you get it... Every kill, every epic hit... every horrible miss is FUN! Eagerly awaiting to play more.

Please please please work on the footwork when fighting.

Make them step with the lead leg in the direction of the movement.

Please please do this. I believe in you. I am so ready to play Sui Generis. Exanima is GREAT. and the stories within...are GREAT!!! keep doing what you are doing. I'd definitely pay to play this game.
