Hi everyone! I’m excited to share my journey to obtaining citizenship under the new law that allows dual citizenship after five years of residency.
Timeline of Events:
16 June: Completed and submitted the Einbürgerungstest via the contact form.
17 July: Received a request from S3 for my Loyal Declaration signature, which I sent back immediately.
12 August: Got my invitation for the appointment on 26 August. I requested a delay, but they moved it sooner.
16 August: Received my citizenship certificate (Urkunde)! They kept my Permanent Residency card but didn’t take my passport, thanks to the new dual citizenship law.
