Whenever I drive past a Catholic church or an Orthodox church I always make the Sign of the Cross as a tribute to the Real Presence of Christ within.

This is exactly why we should only receive the Eucharist directly in the mouth and with the proper reverence due to Our Lord, not in our hands, not with gloves, not in envelopes and not in plastic bags (all of which is currently happening). We should be on our knees, in a state of grace, with a humble and contrite heart, ready to recieve the Eucharist from a priest.

as a Born again Believer in Christ I've NEVER wanted to participate in transubstantiation. The Lords supper as described in the gospels isn't eating manifest flesh and blood. The catholic church has warped John 6 into a Pagan ritual. But, it would be disrespectful for me to just "declare" this without going through scripture to show why its bunk.

John 6:26-27
[26] Jesus answered them and said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate some of the loaves and were filled. [27] Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that lasts for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal."

John 6:29
[29] Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."

John 6:35
[35] Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty.

John 6:38
[38] For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

What is the will of the father? To believe in the son not eat the son.

John 6:40
[40] For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

John 6:44-51
[44] No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. [45] It is written in the Prophets: 'AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. [46] Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.

[47] Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes has eternal life. [48] I am the bread of life. [49] Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.

Here it is, pay attention.

[50] This is the bread that comes down out of heaven, so that anyone may eat from it and not die. [51] I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats from this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I will give for the life of the world also is My flesh."

John 6:54
[54] The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

Did you see it? Look at the construct in the way it’s written. It’s meant to parallel previous statements not towards the literal but towards the preconfigured figurative.

6:54 - Eats my flesh and drink my blood…
6:40 - Sees the sun and believes in him….

Do you get it? Do you understand the comparison? It is not literal as if we are supposed to transform something we consume for life. eternal life is BELIEVING in the SON. NOT eating the son. But since he is feeding the masses he is using food metaphor to compare and contrast to the manna in Egypt to show which is longer lasting. Food = BELIEF. Not literal.

John 6:58
[58] This is the bread that came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died; the one who eats this bread will live forever.”

His teachings give us everlasting life because he who believes in the son will be raised up on the last day. John 3:16 for god so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
This entire passage is a callback to Moses and the manna and it hints at the bronze serpent.

Jesus consistant hints as food as BELIEF in him and the will of the Father in previous chapters. Context is EVERYTHING.

John 4:34: Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.

“The LORD said to Moses, "Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live." So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, he lived.”

Whoever looks upon the son and believes in him will live. In the same way of the bronze serpent the son of man was lifted up on a pole for all to believe.

And then our Lord and Savior clarifies at the end.

John 6:63
[63] It is the SPIRIT who gives life; the flesh provides NO benefit; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.

And then the disciples answer Jesus in all of this. The answer to his question of whether or not they will leave and notice how they never mention anything about flesh.

John 6:68-69
[68] Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have WORDS of eternal life. [69] And we have already BELIEVED and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God."

Friends, Catholics, if your open to understanding relationship with Christ, you need to also know your history. Transubstantiation didn't arrive in catholic teaching until 1215ad. Before then, the church was much more whole and complete. I'm not calling Catholics satanist. no way. Plenty of solid brothers and sisters in Christ in Catholicism. Not 1 billion, but they do exist. No one church demonization or sect or order is complete. But salvation is on Jesus alone in his message, not his body and blood. His body and blood are symbolic of his sacrifice of being crushed by the father for our sins. Not a drinking and eating for life like he's Osirus in Egyptian mythology. Yes that's right, transubstantiation was NOT invented by Christianity but by Baal in Babylon and translated down the ages until it hit Rome.

Is your Faith in you Faith, ....or in Christ alone? To have a relationship with Christ is to know him in Spirit. Your flesh is not an option or required. ALL of John teaches this. The Samarian woman at the well, Nicodemus, feeding the masses, the last supper. All of Romans echoes this in Paul's teaches.

John 3:5 - Unless someone is born of water(physical birth) and the spirit(spirit rebirth) he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. That which is born of the flesh is flesh(physical birth), that which is born of the spirit is spirit (born again).

john 4:13
Jesus answered, 'Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

Jesus offers Spirit and truth within you that "become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." BELIEF = Eternal life

John 4:24: God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Transubstantiation is a hoax damning everyone to hell who practices it in absence of a spiritual relationship with God through faith in Christ.

Why would anyone call you a Father when we only have One? God is our Father. I wouldn’t use the same word to describe the priest as I use for God that created me.
