How to make a German Apple Cake?

I love this cake any time of the year! My oma used to make this apple cake for us grandchildren, which she called Apfelkuchen. It was also her favorite cake back then, which would transport her back to her childhood as well. You can prepare your own apple cake easily at home because this cake doesn’t get any easier. I share my tips about choosing the right apple variety for this cake to make the most perfect coffee time apple cake. You can serve up your German apple cake with whipped cream, ice cream or vanilla sauce and don’t forget your coffee!

Ingredients

4.2 ounces Butter soft
4.2 ounces powdered Sugar
3 Eggs
pinch Salt
2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
7 ounces All-purpose Flour
3 Apples medium to large sized
1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon ground
