NTSA officers at Thika blamed for allowing unroadworthy vehicles

Показать описание
Officers at the National Transport and Safety Authority inspection centre in Thika have been put on the spot for allegedly taking bribes to issue certificates to vehicles that are unroadworthy. Kenya Roads and Safety Association officials planted a truck without the knowledge of the inspection officers at the centre, and expressed their dissatisfaction with how the inspection exercise was conducted. They accused NTSA officials at the centre of collecting thousands of shillings through dubious means, maintaining that the unroadworthy vehicles which are granted certificates, are the major contributors to the carnage on the roads. They called on police to impound such vehicles and restore sanity on the roads.
