I always get a bit emotional when I see Biden and Harris speak just because it is such a relief and means so much to be addressed with respect and to hear them speak about matters that are important to my future. I did not realize how much the Trump administration had hurt and damaged me over the past four years. I had become used to hearing a president that was solely concerned with promoting himself treat the country and reporters with little to no respect. I just didn't realize that accepting that kind of treatment deeply hurt me. Hearing our new president speak has reminded me that we are all worthy of respect, protection, and care.
