(This video is not monetised. Please do share it around, if it bespeaks the truth of how Master Akira Toriyama's works affected your life).

As a child, Dragon Ball Z was all I had.

I have many things I'd like to say about him, things that aren't in this speech, delivered by the amazing Jordan Woollen (the voice of Vegeta in LEGEND - A Dragon Ball Tale). But you know, maybe I don't need to share them. I think that art is a very honest way to deliver to you what's inside someone's soul. So please accept this small tribute as my version of a eulogy, for the late Master Akira Toriyama.

Rest in peace, power, and prosperity, my friend.

You got this 50 year old Black man, who got introduced to DBZ in 1997 when they were just on bootleg videotapes that I would get in NYC, in tears. Salute.

As a child i sat down and watched every i mean every ep of Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z.
After Dragon Ball was finished and Z started i was so hyped as fuck to see Goku and his child and all other Charakters develop.
This series is truly a gift for a child and a teenager to learn about friendship and to never give up!
From 1997 to 2000er i was in such a good time in my life and i didn't really knew how good it was.
I played even every Game that was coming out until that time. What a bond it has created with friends!

ありがとう ございます, Sensei! Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear Mr. Toriyama!

Rest easy Akira Toriyama. Man, I watch dragonball or play one of the games almost every week in some capacity and I always forget hes passed on, and i remember suddenly and it sucks. Such a huge HUGE part of my childhood. As a kid DBZ and Akira Toriyama inadvertently helped me through the trauma, the lonliness, and the wondering if I wanted to keep being around.. RIP to an absolute legend and someone who helped to pave the way for anime and manga for DECADES to come. Who inspired millions of people of all ages to never give up and to keep going no matter what

Akira Toriyama revolutionized the shonen genre that inspired anime in general in the same way as Stan Lee is to comic books and Osamu Tezuka is to manga.

Rest in power, Mr. Toriyama. King Kai is honored to meet you in the Other World in peace.

i’ve been having horrible mental health problems for quite a while, living every day was torture, yet nothing was close enough to make me break into tears than the passing of toriyama sensei. nothing will ever mean as much to me as dragon ball did, it made me who i am and i’ll make sure your spirit lives on within all of us

Without you making Dragon Ball: Legend, i dont think i would have discovered Dragon Ball in the first place. Goku and Akira Toriyama in general has since became my biggest art inspiration. Thank you for introducing me to a wonderful world of hope, creativity, and determination.

I was one of the only girls at my school to be obsessed with DragonBall and all the sagas that came afterwards. I don't know how many times I tried to make a spirit bomb, or break the sound barrier fighting my brothers. This was a big part of my childhood and how I grew up. I know he's been gone a while now, but I think about him and his work all the time. May he continue to rest in peace.

Even though the man is gone his impact will last forever, I wasn't even born when Dragonball or Dragon's Quest were at their peak but I fell in love with his art and his stories all the same. In reality, Akira Toriyama will never truly be gone. His work transcends generations and cultures, he has achieved true immortality through the passion that he shared with every one of us.
