I would definitely try to extend McCabe soon somewhere around 3.75m for 4 or 5 Years. Not sold on Yamamoto, maybe sign him to a PTO and see how he does in Pre Season and go from there. Thanks for the great content as always. Everyone have a Great Weekend!

I'm inclined to agree that re-signing Jake McCabe is a good idea. He's a solid and at 30 yrs old probably has some good mileage left in him...but he'll probably be looking for a raise and the Leafs have only been paying $2M of his $4M salary. I think he's worth $4M+ but cap space is precious...and finding $2-$3 million to resign him might difficult to manage...still...keeping good defenceman should be a priority. As for Yamamoto, I think the GM would lean more towards wanting players with size...and offence. I'm definitely a supporter of smaller players with high end assets like speed, playmaking, shot speed and acccuracy...and even toughness(like a Garry Howatt!)...and Yamamoto did have a 20 gosl season with Edmonton and was a 1st round pick who apparently has some speed to offfer but I'm not sure that's enough. The Leafs need to get bigger and tougher. So, while I'm open to anything within reason to help the team, I'm giving the👎 on it. Good suggestion though.

Your all thinking Berube is the answer from god. His analytics are garbage. Ohh but he won a cup. Yep so did babcock whats your point? Berube took over part way through a season and only reason they even won a cup is an out of the blue goalie on a hot streak named binnington. Berube analytics 15th at best. The longer he is with a team the worse he gets. Lol strong blueline the next few seasons. Tanev is over the hill and one injury away from Robidas island. Lets hope treliving doesnt hire a pk known coach and give him the pp again

Yamamoto stinks. One of those guys who skates well and looks like they’re doing something but when you look back on a game he’s utterly inconsequential

The Leafs need to resign McCabe for sure. I think they could get him at $3.5 to $4M over a 5 year deal.
