"My goal here is to have a vehicle that can handle big storytelling, big immersive musical experiences and trans-media experiences, that each time it happens it’s big enough and loud enough that it moves people to think a little differently at times."

In this episode, Tom DeLonge of blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves discusses the guitar learning process, the emotions he hopes his music evokes, and why he values his relationship with Ernie Ball.

String Theory is a web series from Ernie Ball that explores the sonic origins of some of music's most innovative players.

say what you want about his skill level, tom inspired an immeasurable amount of kids to pick up the guitar.

I was bullied in middle school and ended up moving schools. I ended up meeting a guy who became my best friend. He played guitar and was OBSESSED with Blink 182. We would play every day and my life totally shifted to nothing but music. I was so heavily inspired by Tom Delonge and Blink. Now years later I’ve bow been playing professionally for over 4 years and do over 200+ shows a year and am a totally different, more confident person than I was when I was getting bullied. Everything I have that’s good in my life is because I picked up a guitar... Thanks Tom. You changed my Life

This comment section is way too positive and non-toxic. Am I still on the internet???

It's funny that he says he didn't feel like doing the first documentary because he didn't think someone like him should have one. Literally watching Pursuit Of Tone made me get into his music again. Tom saved me with his art and I can't thank this man enough.

Tom might not be the best guitarist but he’s a goddamn good song writer

Stay together for the kids riff is one of the most amazing riffs he had written

when i was 11, i convinced my parents to let me get a guitar after hearing enema of the state, and now i write music for a living. thank you tom.

Tom's riffs may be simple to play but they stick to your head and heart like nothing else. Blink-182 and Angels and Airwaves inspired countless kids to pick up a guitar and not just play, but create their own riffs and songs.

The only Tom Delonge's video where you dont see comments like:

"Wow he sounds good!"
"Tom's voice is just off as he gets older"

Dude the man is a legend. I personally find what makes tom great is his personality. Like how crazy he can be but then again, he has some of that seriousness. Isnt that us?

Tom’s the reason I asked my parents for a guitar for Christmas, back in ‘99.

I'll say this about Tom Delonge; he has the drive, energy and passion unmatched to anyone I've ever followed. A HUGE inspiration. My favorite dude ever.

Tom's so genuine. People didn't see that during the first blink break up. Glad everyone is seeing his true self!
