This monitor would indeed be the absolute perfect most beautiful picture for console gaming at 4k 60fps. The ridiculous license will most likely unlock a rolling scan similar to what the X300 and previous OLED panels did, or it may just be brightness-compensated BFI. However, I do not expect that this will work with 120hz inputs, the 120hz panel is there to support strobing for 60fps content. They actually did the same thing with the older LCD BVM back in 2007 which also had a 120hz panel, though that one of course had terrible contrast and could not compensate the brightness loss. You're totally right about how terrible their advertising and info is, but they know they don't need to do more because all serious studios will blindly buy Sony because that's what they've been doing since the CRT years.

Can't wait for this channel to be renamed "Professional Reference Monitor For Gaming"

Love your content! Keep it up!

There is no way he paid £30K for that monitor, with his connections and even having sponsored video's he must have gotten a great deal to buy the monitor.
And the fact he gets invited to these industry professional events is a clear indication he has very good connections to get a KILLER deal.

Man I wish they could build a 55 inch television with those specs that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The HDR is awesome on those reference monitors.

My thought is that £ 30.000 is a crazy amount of money to spend on a monitor. And for that kind of money it should be absolutely perfect, no flaws at all. For that price you can buy a set of professional home cinema speakers.

I actually ordered polarizer test strips, since the AG coating on my monitor is married to the polarizer despite my attempts to loosen it. I will make this monitor glossy even it kills me 😂.

Its funny that a 30k dark room monitor where color accuracy is probably paramount cant do it right.

Independant reviewers are the only valid source of information these days..

It's incredible that Sony manages to achieve so little for so much money.
I don't think Samsung, Phillips, LG or any of the other manufacturers would have managed to make it as bad as this if they had even tried.
hope this does not become the standard we will see on panels in the years to come.
I have my fingers crossed that BFI will be a standard with all manufacturers 🤩

i have many crt TVs and many pc crt monitor,
i have oled c1 120hz bfi,
i have plasma vt50, and gt50 and more.
in the past i have Samsung plasma f8500,
and Samsung q7fn " sold to my brother "
the number one for the motion are the CRTs,
the 2nd was the Samsung q7fn and its only BFI 60hz, the q7fn was very bright, maybe that's why it have great BFI,
the BFI on the q7fn and the motion clarity was better than my plasma and the "LG oled C1 120bfi solid 120fps for sure "
but the q7fn suffer from very noticeable flickering.
i think quantum dot led/lcd can handle BFI better than OLED, even if its only 60hz,
or there was a secret with the Q7FN.

Should definitely get this for my World of Warcraft gaming, and Alexa 35 to stream myself playing at midnight 🙂

No way, this this a dual layer LCD. Its not going to have the motion clarity characteristics gamers are looking for. This is for film first and foremost.

This is NOT a monitor for home use, its for critical cinema analysis ....30K is a lot even for us in the business but when you are dealing with the types of things we do and the mission critical jobs we do, things like these are imperative in this arena. Economies of scale it's for box office movie stuff, NOT for playing games, response times aren't as important .. 60Hz is fine for us, color gamut, Dynamic Range and Gamma are way more important. None of your G-sync etc applies to this monitor ....

First time on your channel and very much enjoying it. I'm curious what size tv is it that you have?

So it’s not just CRT BVMs that are awesome then. Too bad I don’t have $30k to drop lol

Hey Plasma, FYI £30, 000 is $37, 324.20 so Vince is crying!

Bro, its probably just a terminology thing.
Old OLED BVMs had 7.5ms at 60hz via Rolling Scan. This should at least be better than that.
These kind of monitors are made for Hollywood not for gamers.
Even video game developers will probably be fine using this even if it is laggy since it is not like you need very low lag for the modern casual AAA games they make.

It's also not letting me reply to your comments and my comments don't show unless I"m logged in? Not sure why your channel hates me lol.

🤣0:00 🤣 With these intros, you should really change your channel name to something like:
“Madman A/V”
“Madman Visuals”
or “Joker TV” 🤣
