This is an expression which implies that someone is lazy and doesn't do anything meaningful at all, so we assume that the day spent without useful work is wasted. The word "Nap" actually has two meanings: 1. day 2. the Sun. the sample in the beggining is from a good old Hungarian cartoon The Mézga Family.
