Welcome to my Valheim boat guide! This guide will show you how to set sail in Valheim while giving you all the tips and information you need. The first part will give you a summary of all the different icons linked to the boat and sailing with some handy tips and information. The second part will be all about the 3 different boats in the game, the Raft, Karve and the Longship. I will be providing the crafting costs of each one along with any relevant information with some nice cinematic shots.

A battle-slain warrior, the Valkyries have ferried your soul to Valheim, the tenth Norse world. Besieged by creatures of chaos and ancient enemies of the gods, you are the newest custodian of the primordial purgatory, tasked with slaying Odin’s ancient rivals and bringing order to Valheim.

Your trials begin at the disarmingly peaceful centre of Valheim, but the gods reward the brave and glory awaits. Venture forth through imposing forests and snow-capped mountains, explore and harvest more valuable materials to craft deadlier weapons, sturdier armor, viking strongholds and outposts. Be aware.. when you sail out it can take a while to come back 😂... i just wanted to sail around my starter island..but it was massive with a lot of “fjords” where you think you sail around the island but hits land and have to go back again and around... so pack a lot of food, stone and wood for campfire and workbench to repair boat ..it could be an epic journey and take many hours 😳

Ooh! I like the dock design! I'm gonna have to modify ours. The guys aren't going to to like having to figure out how to sail into the narrow strip tho. lol

I haven't sailed yet. I just built the karve on my solo-ish game and wanted to figure out how to control it. Great vid, I just have one question - how do you paddle? I didn't see any indication on how to paddle in the vid.

I get it, it’s Viking age tech. But did they have to make it a..simulator? Couldn’t they add some type of mechanic that helps you move against the wind. Even if it’s slow. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong. Kind of takes the fun out of the game if you are just stuck in the middle of the sea/ocean.
